St. Mary's with St.Patrick's 3s to 11s Group

Next meeting Sunday 5th February at 10.00am mass

All are welcome

The 3s to 11s group is for all children (aged 3-11 or thereabouts) who meet on the first Sunday of every month. The group is led by three adults: Jane, Miriam and Bev.
The aim of the group is for the children to access the Liturgy of the Word through a 'child friendlier' version of the Gospel reading and through the form of pictures, either pre made or the children's own.
The children go to their group at the beginning of Mass and return after the homily, when they proceed with the offertory gifts and their pictures to Fr. Phil. They return to sit with their families after the offertory procession. The pictures they have done are then displayed on the website. Children can collect their pictures during the following weeks - just see Jane.

The group would like to share with you some of their recent work.

Three Wise Men visited baby Jesus. They brought with them gifts of Gold - a precious and expensive metal, often worn by kings - a sign of Jesus' royalty; Frankincense - an incense which gives off perfumed, pleasant smelling smoke - a sign of Jesus' holiness;  Myrrh - a perfumed ointment used to prepare the dead for their burial - a sign of Jesus' humanity, and his suffering and death.
